Profit Visibility

Track profit per SKU and channel with unit cost, shipping fees, and ad spend for actionable insights.

Profit Visibility

Revenue can look healthy while cash is tight. Without full visibility into costs, you may not know which products are profitable — or which are quietly losing money.

Analision solves this with transaction-level profit tracking that includes unit cost, shipping, and ad spend (where available).

The Challenge

Revenue alone is a vanity metric. A seller may process hundreds of orders a month and still end up with less cash than expected because real costs — purchasing inventory, shipping, advertising — are scattered across systems.

Most ecommerce tools show only what you sold. Few show what you actually made.

How Analision Solves It

Transaction-Level Profit Data

The Profit Analytics screen (under Financial → Profit Analytics) shows every fulfilled transaction with a full cost breakdown:

ColumnCaptures
Sale PriceWhat the customer paid
Unit CostProduct cost at the time of the transaction
Shipping CostCarrier fees for that order
Total CostCombined unit + shipping cost

This layout lets you immediately spot low-margin or negative-margin transactions.

Weighted Average Cost

Analision uses a weighted average cost method that updates with each inventory receipt:

  • Receive 10 units at $10 → cost per unit = $10.00
  • Receive 10 more units at $15 → new average = $12.50

Every transaction records cost at the moment of sale. This ensures profit data reflects real-time unit economics, including the effect of rising or falling purchase prices.

Identifying Loss-Making Products

The Profit Analytics screen highlights transactions where sales are unprofitable:

Example: Sale $27.99, Unit Cost $16.61, Shipping ~$14 → Total Cost ~$30.61 → Sold at a loss

Profit Column: Coming Soon

A dedicated Profit column will automatically calculate:

Until then, you can:

  • Export all data via Export All Data and calculate profit in Excel
  • Spot-check high-volume SKUs using existing columns

Advertising Costs (Roadmap)

Currently, Profit Analytics excludes ad spend (Amazon PPC, sponsored ads, etc.), so profits shown are gross profit before ads. Full integration will provide net profit per SKU once available.

Profit by Channel

Filter by store to compare profitability across channels:

  • Which marketplaces are most profitable?
  • Are shipping costs higher on certain channels?
  • Where are loss-making transactions concentrated?

Custom Profit Reporting

If your business needs custom profit reporting — by category, supplier, period, or custom cost inputs — Analision can build tailored reports. Contact your account manager to specify requirements.
